I use my natural passions for people, technology and innovation; along with my critical thinking, strategic planning and road mapping skills; to have an impact on corporate project management strategies, portfolios, leaders and teams. I bring value to companies that I work for by managing people and processes efficiently and using my influence to achieve the best possible outcomes for anything I’m accountable for.

WHO I WORK WITH

Over the past 15 years, I’ve work with world class IT teams at Microsoft Corporation and Nationwide Insurance. I’ve worked within and across internal business units as well as partnered with external vendors such as IBM, Informatica, Sungard and APIGee.

WHAT MAKES ME DIFFERENT

I have a natural passion for science, technology and innovation. I also have a natural passion for coaching, mentoring and helping people with their personal development and growth. I combine these natural passions with my critical thinking and strategic planning skills to help businesses gain value by executing through their project portfolios and leading world class project teams through execution. I am energized by the work of developing strategic plans and roadmaps, managing project portfolios and executing through the strategy.
I have 20+ years of experience in IT project management as both a people leader and as an individual contributor. I’ve held roles of portfolio leader, release manager, project manager, etc.. in all areas of driving technology projects.

PROFESSIONAL BIO

Teal Williams currently works at Nationwide Mutual Insurance Corporation as a Senior IT Infrastructure Program Manager. She joined Nationwide in 2011. In her current role, Teal is responsible for the Planning and Delivery or multiple Nationwide efforts related to furthering Nationwide’s 2020 Vision; including managing a $12M program for Nationwide Financial.
Prior to Nationwide, Teal worked at Microsoft Corporation for 10 years as a Strategic Business Intelligence Portfolio Manager, an IT Project Manager and a Supportability Content Release Manager. While employed by Microsoft, Teal was responsible for managing the Detego portfolio of projects for a million-dollar business intelligence platform at Microsoft Corp. As a member of the Strategy Management team, Teal assisted internal customers with planning their intelligence strategies and then driving projects aimed towards achieving those goals.

Teal’s duties throughout her career have combined her special interests in business intelligence, strategic management and delivery execution. She started her career in the United States Marine Corps as a Flight Operations Specialist. During her early career, Teal worked for companies like, Weyerhaeuser, Washington Mutual, and Seattle Coffee Company, among others as a technical consultant.

Teal has an Executive MBA in Strategy & Leadership from Seattle, University and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems. She also has two AA degrees. One in Business Information Systems and one in Early Childhood Development.

Teal currently resides in Columbus, OH and when not working she enjoys spending time with her husband Scott, doing things like flipping houses, blogging on her websites, outdoor and backyard camping, reading mystery and suspense novels, playing tennis and traveling to exotic locales.
